From May 19-May 22, APTA held its annual Mobility Conference — formerly its Bus and Paratransit Conference — in Louisville, KY, attracting hundreds of transit and paratransit industry professionals from across the US and abroad. And TSS Paratransit was there, showcasing our 5M paratransit software at the Tuesday afternoon trade show, with almost non-stop demos of 5M provided to interested transit agencies and operations management companies alike.
The latest installation of 5M is now supporting ADA paratransit trips in Riverside County, California. Implemented in February 2019 over a record one-week transition period, 5M replaced DDS for Network Paratransit Systems, a taxi contractor to the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA). Petros Keshishian, President of Network Paratransit, has been thrilled with the results. “With 5M, our productivity has increased and our on-time performance has soared upwards, way above RTA’s requirements.”
TSS Paratransit was a proud sponsor of CalACT’s Spring Conference, held April 23-26 at the Lowe’s Coronado Bay Resort on the beautiful Coronado peninsula, across the bay from San Diego. Approximately 550 were in attendance. TSS’s Will Rodman, Stacey Murphy, and Melineh Morad greeted visitors at the booth during the Expo events, with several visitors asking for a 5M demo, and getting a first-hand look at 5M’s innovative dispatch module, driver tablets, and direct booking features. “It’s so easy and intuitive. My drivers, dispatchers and riders would love it!” said one visitor from the SF Bay Area, who was...
TRB’s International Conference on Demand Responsive and Innovative Transportation Services
TSS Paratransit was also a sponsor of TRB’s International Conference on Demand Responsive and Innovative Transportation Services, held April 15-17 in Baltimore. TSS’s Will Rodman attended the conference and was asked to speak on two different topics: New Paradigms in DRT /Shared Mobility On-Demand Metrics, and the Impact of Analytical Reports on Paratransit Service Planning. Both sessions attracted approximately 50-75 attendees and received quite a bit of attention (see below). The conference exceeded the expectations of many of the 150 attendees. Emerging were several themes that straddled the different topical sections of the conference. One dominant theme focused on the...
Global Paratransit Inc. Switches to 5M Paratransit Software: Service Efficiency & Quality Improves
5M Now Supporting Access Services’ Southern Region TSS Paratransit and Global Paratransit Inc. (GPI) announce that TSS Paratransit’s 5M Software Solution is now supporting reservations, scheduling, dispatching and delivery of ADA paratransit trips originating in LA’s Access Services’ Southern Region. 5M paratransit software was implemented In January 2019. Why did GPI choose 5M? Performance! A comparison of three key performance indicators evidenced how San Gabriel Transit (SGT), an Access Services’ provider using 5M, has been outperforming GPI over the last two years in key metrics such as productivity (despite a longer average trip length), on-time performance, and the percentage of...

5M Provider Productivity & OTP Increased with Deployment of Driver Tablets & Mobile Driver Assistant Software

Both the SGT and CTI managers reported that (1) there were no disruptions in service when the 600 tablets were deployed, and (2) there were improvements in service productivity and on-time performance.
